Research
Characterization of Mercury Concentration and Distribution in Laurel Lake December 2019
· Presented research proposal and designed experiment with team of four others to test mercury levels in a local lake
· Took sediment cores and used a Direct Mercury Analyzer 80 (DMA-80) to analyze mercury accumulation over time
· Presented conclusions in an infographic that could be provided to the stakeholders
Effect of Cover Crop Diversity on Entomopathogenic Nematode (EPN) Infection Rates December 2019
· Developed research idea and proposal with team of three
· Took soil cores and monitored the death of waxworms placed in that soil
· Magnified and dissected waxworms to identify the presence of EPN
Glacial and Volcanic Research Assistant, Iceland July 2019
· Took aerial photography using a drone to show the receding of glaciers over time when compared to past data sets
· Took drone photography of glacially formed topography to later be used in maps
