Creative Works

I have a passion for science communication and have experimented with different forms of visual communication while a student at Dickinson College. Below are some examples of my works! Please feel free to email me if you wish to learn more about any of the individual projects or other works of mine.

The Final Frontier

Senior Film

It is inarguable that human history has been marred with the displacement of indigenous populations and the frequent subsequent overuse of resources. As humans turn their eyes to the sky, and with more frequent conversations about space tourism and travel, is history bound to repeat itself? And what are the implications of other forms of life being found?

Something's Lurking in the Arctic

Although the art is getting an overhaul, I created a children's book featuring the effects of climate change being felt in the arctic by both the humans and animals that live there such as permafrost melt and habitat loss. I wanted to create a book that could show environmental harms in places where children would have no personal context.

Interactive Art Exhibition

CALC, Carlisle PA

My Conservation Biology class collaborated with the Ceramics class and the Carlisle Arts Learning Center (CALC) to create an interactive experience reflecting issues associated with climate change. Carlisle residents as well as students could walk through the exhibit and interact with each art installation. The images above were two out of the five fish tank environments created by my group representing vulnerable locations (the arctic and Venice in this case). Visitors were asked to fill out a survey reflecting their sustainability - such as whether or not they made an effort to carpool when possible, or how often they bought local. Based on their responses, they would pour a designated amount of water into the fish bowls. Although individual impact on each habitat might not be noticeable, by the end of the day, the cumulative pouring drowned each of the habitats we had created.
